Tasting - Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Name: Grand Cru
Variety: Pinot Noir
Country: United States

Region: California
Year: 2013
Price: $6.95

Wine Critic Review:
This ruby-colored wine has aromas of raspberry, cherry, and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of cherry and plum lead to a soft velvety finish. This wine can be enjoyed by itself. It is also an excellent accompaniment with Brie, goat cheese and smoked salmon. Lamb shanks and pork tenderloin are a favorite main dishes to pair with this wine.

My Review:
This wine had a sweet cherry smell, almost like the smell of cherry Jolly Ranchers. It tasted very creamy and slightly sweet with a hint of raspberries. This was a very smooth wine, and unlike most red wines I have tried, it didn't leave that dry, bitter, acidic finish or aftertaste in my mouth. I liked this red wine compared to most reds I have tried.
I tried this wine without food.
